CellCrown™6 is available as 5 models; non-sterile and sterile empty inserts and with preattached, white nylon membrane with pore size of 5 μm, with opaque polycarbonate filter with pore size of 1 μm and transparent clear PET membrane with pore size of 0.4 microns . Nylon filter is hydrophilic and binds proteins. PET filter is hydrophilic and treated for smooth cell attachment. Polycarbonate is the right material choice for the filter when cells and proteins are not wanted to attach on the filter.
Co-CellCrown™6 has vertical, removable wall in the middle of the insert . It is possible to culture three different cell types at the same time. Two cell types are cultured on different sides of the wall and the third cell type is cultured below the insert. When using Co-CellCrown™ it is important to lift it up in the well in a way that its upper edge is above the surface level of the media so that the cells won't escape from the upper side of the insert. Also, make sure that the membrane and the little ring cover the holes on the bottom side of the bigger part.
