Scaffdex was established in February 2006 on the initiative of individuals representing biomaterial industry and university research. The company is in private ownership and operates in Tampere in Finland.
Scaffdex is in close co-operation with Institutes of Materials Science and Biomedical Engineering, Tampere University of Technology and Regea, Institute of Regenerative Medicine of Tampere University.
