History
Scaffdex was established in February 2006 on the initiative of individuals representing biomaterial industry and university research. The company is in private ownership and operates in Tampere in Finland.
Scaffdex is in close co-operation with Institutes of Materials Science and Biomedical Engineering, Tampere University of Technology and Institute of Biomedical Technology of Tampere University.

Satu Alestalo is highly experienced in development projects relating to biodegradable surgical implants and in the development issues regarding their processing.
Other members of the company are highly competent in industrial, clinical and research issues. The company has been recently established but the personnel involved have long and wide experience concerning biomaterials, processing technology and commercial clinical uses.
